A Figure of Sorrow

This is a painting from my series of 'Sorrow'. As a part of my IB Visual Arts curriculum, we have to choose a topic and make paintings or sculptures based on them. I chose 'Sorrow' as it is a beautiful emotion which can be depicted through a figure. This painting is inspired by 'The Sorrow' by Van Gogh. I have researched a lot to come up with a color pallet of this particular emotion. The medium i used was acrylic paint. This painting has been made on a canvas.

Tiger

This is a tiger made on an ivory sheet. The technique used is called stippling as the entire drawing is made by the simple use of dots. The medium i used was a 0.6 rottering black pen.

Scenery - Pencil shading

This sketch is made on a hand made paper. The medium used was a 2B, 4B, 6B and an 8B pencil.

Melting emotions

This is a form of contemporary art. It shows an abstract figure depicting an emotion of sadness. The tear drop is made by glue showing the melting of emotions. The colors i used also depicts sadness. There are textures and patches used in both the sides. This is made on a hand made sheet. The mediums i used are acrylic paint and glue.

Traditional Realistic Old vs. Abstract New

This is a painting which contains fusion, ie. abstract as well as realistic. The medium used was acrylic. This is a mirror image reflection the theme of old and new. The girl in the left depicts 'new' and is and is also a depiction of the modern life style. For example, her hair, jewelry, tattoo etc. On the other hand, the realistic figure is of a woman from the old times. It can be seen as she is wearing Indian clothes as well as old Indian accessories. This painting is made on a thin canvas board.

Dairy Milk Fruit and Nut (still life study)
